Galvanizing standards

National and International Hot Dip Galvanizing Standards
Galvanizers Association can provide detailed advice on compiling your specifications, as well as reviewing design details to maximise the benefits of galvanizing your steel.
Quite simple considerations will go a long way to ensure that your steel is processed quickly and efficiently:Â
- size and shape of fabrication
- how the fabrication will be connected
- any additional coatings that may be required
British and European Galvanizing Standards
British and European Standards
EN ISO 10684
Fasteners — Hot dip galvanized coatings.
EN 15773
Industrial application of powder organic coatings to hot dip galvanized or sherardised steel articles (duplex coatings). Specifications, Recommendations & Guidelines.Â
EN ISO 14713-1

Hot dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel articles — specifications and test methods.
EN 13438
Paints & Varnishes. Powder organic coatings for galvanized or sherardised steel products for construction purposes.
EN 10348‑2:2018
Galvanized reinforcing steel products. In December 2018, a European standard, EN 10348-2:2018 ‘Steel for the reinforcement of concrete – Galvanized reinforcing steel and steel products‘ was published.
This standard allows for easy specification of hot dip galvanized reinforcement and provides details on the type of reinforcing steel, steel rebar and/or steel product to be galvanized, especially steel within the scope of EN 10080.
