Architecture Award Winner 2025: Carmody Groarke
Bethnal Green Road
A former East London textile workshop has been transformed into 2,200 sqm of creative workspace. Retaining the original concrete frame, Carmody Groarke added a lightweight galvanized steel and timber extension, with a striking hot dip galvanized façade that combines durability with sculptural elegance.
Engineering Award Winner 2025: Haworth Tompkins
Industria
Art Award Winner 2025: Clevedon Cars & Coffee
1898 Stephens Motorcar Prototype
Set on a roundabout overlooking the Severn Estuary, the Stephens Prototype AE-174 monument is a full-scale galvanized steel recreation of the pioneering 1897 petrol-powered motorcar built by Richard Stephens. Exposed to the harsh coastal climate, galvanizing was essential to ensure the sculpture’s durability throughout the next century.
Detail Award Winner 2025: Sanei Hopkins Architects Ltd
The Sentinel
Rising above the Suffolk landscape, The Sentinel is a slender galvanized steel tower that forms part of a self-built rural dwelling. Designed as a contemplative study and lookout, its expressive galvanized exoskeleton withstands coastal conditions while offering elevated solitude and striking architectural presence.
Sustainability Award Winner 2025: Shepherd Epstein Hunter
Church Grove
London’s largest completed self-build housing project, Church Grove combines sustainability with community. Designed by Shepherd Epstein Hunter for RUSS, the scheme delivers 36 affordable homes shaped by residents’ involvement. Galvanized steel features throughout — from balustrades and ramps to the top-floor canopy — ensuring durability, low maintenance, and long-term resilience.”
Innovation Award 2025: G-Deck
G-Deck Components
G-DECK has introduced full-scale galvanizing across its safety platforms and access systems, delivering greater durability, corrosion resistance, and long-term value. The move enhances safety, reduces maintenance, and sets a new benchmark for robust, sustainable access solutions in construction.
